Developing Diabolo Sport: Promoting the traditional diabolo sport at Houbi Elementary School, achieving top three rankings in various diabolo competitions both within and outside the county. To further the development of diabolo sport in the county, the school continuously participates in performances and promotional activities, hoping to pass on this traditional skill and foster the traditional art culture of Tainan City.

Implementing Ocarina Teaching: Promoting ocarina teaching at Houbi Elementary School, establishing an ocarina team, and integrating dance and rhythm teaching to make ocarina performances more appealing. The performances not only include ocarina music but also incorporate dance and movement, gradually becoming an outstanding and distinctive performance team.

Promoting Choir Teaching: Promoting choir teaching at Houbi Elementary School, starting with foundational choir training from the third grade. Teachers utilize club activities and music class time for choir and music teaching activities, laying a solid foundation in music. As a result, the school consistently achieves top three rankings in county music competitions each year.

Promoting Reading Activities: Committed to promoting school-based reading activities, from computerizing the library catalog management to having library volunteers assist students with book borrowing and library education. Storytelling volunteers are trained to teach stories and guide picture book reading in lower grade classrooms. The establishment of a circulating book box enhances the overall reading atmosphere and promotes in-depth reading, positively impacting students’ language proficiency.

Promoting Diary Writing: Encouraging students from grades three to six to write two diary entries each week, promoting writing through essays. Teachers provide guidance and review the diaries, establishing a habit of diary writing among students. Attractive rewards are set to encourage students to write diaries consistently. The principal reviews student diaries monthly and provides timely rewards, significantly enhancing students’ writing skills.

Integrating Information Technology in Teaching: Participating in the partner school program for integrating information technology in teaching, promoting the use of projectors and computer networks in every classroom, leading to a new teaching environment that is digital, networked, and data-sharing.

Implementing After-School Assistance Program: Providing individualized and appropriate guidance for students from disadvantaged families and low-achieving students through the after-school assistance program.

Implementing After-School Care Classes: Offering after-school care classes for students whose parents are unable to care for them after school, ensuring they receive professional and safe care at school. This relieves parents’ concerns and reduces their economic burden.
